Reggaeton

Reggaeton appeared in the mid-1990s and draws heavily from Jamaican reggae and dancehall, African American and Latin hip-hop, as well as techno and other electronic music subgenres. Sampling, synthesizers, drum machines, and rapping vocal delivery, most often in Spanish, are some of its recognizable features. The use of a specific rhythm, known as dem bow, is the key marker distinguishing reggaeton from other types of Latin urban popular music.
