Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers
Fred Astaire (1899–1987) and Ginger Rogers (1911–1995) were legendary motion-picture icons. Each was successful as an actor individually, but "Fred and Ginger" are best remembered for performing together in several films during the 1930s as well as in the 1949 musical The Barkleys of Broadway. Performing more than thirty dances in these movies, Fred and Ginger became international stars and further enhanced interest in ballroom dance among all social classes.
