Author Bio
Andrew Shahriari received his Ph.D. in 2001 from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, as a specialist in the music of Southeast Asia, specifically of northern Thailand. He has published two books, Khon Muang Music and Dance Traditions of North Thailand, with White Lotus (2006), and World Music: A Global Journey, coauthored with Terry E. Miller, with Routledge (first edition, 2006). An audio CD of his field recordings, Silk, Spirits, and Song: Music of North Thailand, has been published by Lyrichord Discs and is available on iTunes.
