As we and other instructors use this first edition, we will notice redundancies, typos, and awkward phrasings. Please bear with us as we work toward the second edition. In this space we address factual errors and confusions:
The caption for the Piedra del Sol states that 54,210 pounds is about 25 tons. It is about 27 tons.
Three-quarters into the page is the statement that "Overland traders from Muslim Spain and Morocco caravanned westward across northern Africa to Egypt and beyond." Obviously they moved eastward.
The Bayeaux Tapestry is about 224 feet long, which is not "twice as long as an American football field." That would be 224 yards.
The character Sita in the Ramayama is not the sister-in-law of the demon king Ravana. That is an inexplicable error.
