Ethnomusicology

Ethnomusicology is a discipline dedicated to the study of music and its social and cultural environment.  Ethnomusicologists draw on a variety of disciplines for their research, primarily from the fields of musicology, anthropology, and linguistics.  Dance, art, theatre, and other associated art forms are often associated with ethnomusicological research.
