Session V: Screening of Reflections on Media Ethics (Annette Danto, 2011)

Annette Danto, is a filmmaker and a Professor in the Department of Film at Brooklyn College. A twice-awarded Fulbright Scholar in Filmmaking, her work has been used by international non-profit organizations including Pathfinder International, United Nations Development Fund for Women and the Gates Foundation to strengthen educational outreach campaigns addressing women’s health, economic development initiatives and girls’ education. Her recent documentary Reflections On Media Ethics (2011) is distributed by forwardintime.com., along with The Never Ending Path (2005), which is in permanent collections of 125 academic institutions worldwide. Danto has been an invited lecturer on media ethics at national and international venues including:  British Film Institute (U.K.), Bangor University (Wales), Daniel Pearl Film Festival (India), U.S. State Department and Fulbright initiatives in Washington, D.C., Chennai, Delhi and Bangalore.  Danto holds degrees from McGill University, Columbia University and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film, Television and New Media.
