Purpose of the Instructor Pages
These Instructor Pages are designed to support instructors’ use of Political Contexts of Educational Leadership: ISLLC Standard 6. The pages offer some background information about the intent and use of the 2008 Standards for School Leaders along with links to the research base. Because the text is primarily developed for case-based learning, tips for using cases instructionally, as well as for standards-based assessment, are also included here.
Additional support for learning is found in the Student Pages. These Student Pages offer further learning for political concepts, and further refinement of some of the vocabulary used in the research and analysis of politics in schooling. The by-chapter information in the Student Pages also provides links to other cases, which illustrate some of the same concepts provided in the text’s chapters.
